FAQs

What is Vehicle Wrapping?

Vehicle wrapping is the process of covering your vehicle in a thin, pliable specialist vinyl.  This can be in the form of a colour change for your car, or full digitally printed vinyl for your custom car / commercial vehicle to increase your brand awareness and create a mobile advertising space.

Why wrap and not paint?

There are a few reasons that we will point out below:

  1. A wrap works out cheaper than a paint job of equal quality
  2. The wrap protects the original paintwork increasing the resale value of your vehicle.
  3. When selling your vehicle you can either keep wrap on or remove to turn vehicle back to original colour, this would cost a fortune if repainting.
  4. Loads of custom finishes at a fraction of the price of paint including Gloss / Metallic / Matte / Satin / Chrome / Pearlescent

How much does it cost?

Prices vary depending on size of vehicle, colour and wrap finish etc, but a full wrap on a small hatchback starts from just £1700. Roof only wraps start at £195.

Do you accept Credit / Debit cards?

Yes we do, we accept various major Credit / Debit cards or cash.

Do I have to wrap the full vehicle?

Definitely not! Although a full wrap will always be the most effective, you can achieve a real eye catching result by wrapping just a part of your vehicle (roof, bonnet, wing etc), and thats why we at Obsession Auto Styling are here to guide you through the process.

Will it damage my paintwork?

As long as your original paintwork is of a good standard of finish then this will not cause a problem, the wrap will not however disguise chips / rust or scuffs as it is a very thin material, though some finishes are more forgiving than others (carbon fibre, busy digital wraps etc.)

Is a vehicle wrap permanent?

Vehicle wrapping is a semi permanent finish and generally has a life span of around 5 years depending on finish and how well the customer looks after car.

Can a wrap be removed?

It can indeed, though I would not recommend removing the vinyl yourself and would suggest having it removed professionally. The longer the wrap has been on the vehicle will mean it generally takes a bit longer to remove, removal will not damage paint if paint was in good condition when wrap was originally applied.

Do I need to inform DVLA of a colour change?

If you are having over 70% of your vehicles paint covered then you must inform the DVLA immediately, this is free and simple, we will be happy to let you know how to do this on booking in with us.

Will it affect my insurance?

Most insurers do not mind at all but we recommend you contact your insurance company in advance as we cannot be held responsible.
